What Is Secretome Therapy?
Secretome therapy is one of the most advanced, cell-free regenerative treatments available for hair restoration.
The secretome is the collection of biologically active molecules that stem cells naturally release to repair and rejuvenate tissue. These include growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles that act as messengers, telling nearby cells how to heal, grow, and regenerate.
At Bespoke Hair MD, we take this concept a step further with personalized secretome therapy. A small sample of your own healthy tissue – a few hair follicles – is collected and placed in a controlled culture environment. Over several weeks, your cells secrete their own unique blend of regenerative signals — your personal secretome.
That customized serum is then re-introduced into your scalp through microneedling, delivering a powerful, biologically matched boost to dormant follicles. Because the therapy is made from your own cells, it’s completely biocompatible and tailored to your genetic signature.
How Secretome Therapy Works

Collection: 25-50 hair follicles are taken in clinic, this can be done during a hair transplant procedure or as a separate procedure.

Culture: Your cells are carefully packaged and sent to our partner lab in Toronto General Hospital. There the cells are nurtured in a sterile system where they release a regenerative “cocktail.”

Harvest: The secretome fluid — rich in growth factors and extracellular vesicles and exosomes — is concentrated and purified. This secretome cocktail is then carefully shipped from the lab back to us for use.

Treatment: The serum is applied to the scalp using microneedling to awaken inactive follicles, enhance circulation, and improve scalp health. Studies have shown the concentration of growth factors up to 36X higher in secretome than in PRP.

Regeneration: Over the following months, hair appears thicker, stronger, and more vibrant.

Secretome vs. Exosome Therapy
